Medgyessy shared his honor to be the icebreaker and promoter of bilateral cooperation of the two countries in 2002, and he was “particularly happy” to see that the two countries signed the agreement in 2017 to upgrade diplomatic relations. The 75th anniversary of the establishment of China-Hungary diplomatic relations is “crucial”, because Hungary was among the first countries to recognize the People's Republic of China in 1949, “which reflects the friendship between the two peoples”, said Peter Medgyessy, former Hungarian Prime Minister, in a recent interview.
